SOLES
Reducing weight, overall sole length and volume was our design team’s mission this season. We can say confidently, mission accomplished.
These new soles give people what they want… absorption, support and grip with the least amount of volume and weight.
QUATRO SOLE
Rubber-eva
This sole is constructed of real rubber for maximum hold on slippery surfaces. The Quatro sole allows you to easily hike in all four directions without having to worry about losing your foot hold.
I.H.S. (Internal Highback System)
Determines the flex of every boot depending on its flex rate. Designed to keep the side of the boot soft and forgiving, but gives you full support in your heel where it is necessary.
FOOTBEDS
Northwave's footbeds are made with to work directly with Stroble Construction. They combine EVA materials to deliver the perfect footbed for maximum comfort and power transmission. Northwave's Skyhike Series uses a blend of Adaptafit memory foam, lightweight EVA and a nylon cage to provide the most advanced, supportive footbeds with super shock absorption.

LACING
Northwave have improved their lace systems to give you the best fit ever.
SL TECHNOLOGY

Northwave's SL2 lacing system takes it to a whole other level by providing double zone lacing to deliver maximum fit and comfort. By simply pulling on the strings, the double action lace occurs quick and painless, without any confusion.
HEEL RETENTION SYSTEM
360° is Northwave's well known standard system. Now Northwave have improved their 540° heel retention system with special curved barrels.
360° HEEL HOLD SYSTEM
A complete wrap of the ankle… anchored to the heel of the boot laces run through a brass or nylon loop to wrap around the heel to lock the ankle in place.
LINERS
Northwave's liners are built with special "Stroble" construction. The design provides the perfect fit between footbed and outsole that won't lose power transmission like all the other designs.
Awesome comfort and excellent protection against cold and wetness.
Speed Lace:
The new liner lace lock is built with a quick release system that ensures effi ciency and reduces lace slippage. Lace slides through a metal ring to improve closure.
• Heat moldable Fit:
Thermo-Fit Foam with target fit zones that can catalyze with instantly with a specialized heater or over time from natural body heat.
• Web System
Asymmetric support structure stitched to the outer to distribute hi-back pressure throughout the rest of the liner.
• LINER TF 1
Construction and Materials:
TF 1 Liner with Stroble construction is combined with EVA and our softest IHS for more flex without the discomfort of an underfoot seam.
Easy Flex Window:
Strategically placed supportive foam that allows movement, while providing support and avoiding calf bite.
Heel Pocket:
Anatomical Heel Pocket uses dual density foam to support and hold the heel down.
